If you’ve ever dreamed about getting married somewhere quiet, beautiful, and actually meaningful, a Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden wedding is that place. It’s just outside Charlotte in Belmont, but once you’re there, it feels like the world softens a little. Everything slows down. The greenhouse. The gardens. The light. It all feels calm. As a wedding photographer, these are the days I love most. The ones that aren’t about a production, but about people choosing each other.

The groom and their families arrived first, which already set the tone for the day. No rush. No chaos. Just him, standing near the greenhouse, adjusting his jacket, taking a deep breath, and getting ready to see his bride for the first time.
You could feel the nerves, but in a sweet way. The kind that reminds you this actually matters.

They chose to get married inside the greenhouse, surrounded by pink florals and orchids, and honestly… it was unreal. Soft light everywhere. Greenery in every direction. It felt warm and alive and quiet all at once.
Only their parents and their kids were there.
Their son walked the bride down the aisle, which really was a sweet and emotional moment. Their daughter stood beside them as maid of honor, taking her job very seriously while looking at them with the most joy. Both sets of parents watched from the seats, teary and proud and completely locked into the moment.
This is what a Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden wedding does so well. It makes small feel powerful.

After the ceremony, we walked outside together and just let the day breathe for a minute. No timeline stress. No rushing. Just them, their kids, and this beautiful garden wrapping around us.
They held hands. The kids ran ahead. Everyone smiled that quiet, happy kind of smile.
These are always my favorite moments to photograph, because nothing is forced and everything is real.

We took portraits all over the property. By the paths. Near the open lawns. Under archways filled with flowers. Everywhere we stopped felt like a new little world.
They were easy together. Comfortable. The kind of couple that doesn’t need much direction because they already know how to exist in the same space.
Before they left, we went back into the greenhouse one more time for a few final portraits under the glass ceiling, surrounded by orchids and soft light. It felt like closing a chapter the same way it started.

A Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden wedding is for couples who care more about how the day feels than how it looks on paper. The greenhouse is stunning. The gardens are unreal. But what really makes it special is how peaceful everything feels.
It’s close to Charlotte, but it doesn’t feel like the city. It’s elegant without being stuffy. Romantic without trying too hard. If you’re thinking about eloping or keeping things small and meaningful, this place just gets it.
